Janice L. Panza, Ph.D.
Senior Applications Scientist

Dr. Janice Panza joined ChemImage in August 2005.  She is a Senior Applications Scientist specializing in biomedical applications at ChemImage.  Her primary role is to perform biomedical spectroscopy and imaging in order to advance ChemImage’s technology into the medical diagnostic field. In addition to biomedical research, she is also involved in other aspects of ChemImage’s operations including but not limited to quality assurance, product development, scientific sales support, and intellectual property.

Before joining ChemImage, Dr. Panza was an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering Departments at the University of Pittsburgh, and still enjoys that position today.  In addition, she was a Biomedical Engineer in the Artificial Heart Program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.   There she worked with many different mechanical circulatory devices and artificial organ technology.

Dr. Panza completed her Ph.D. at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Chemical Engineering, and also has undergraduate degrees in Chemical Engineering and Molecular and Cell Biology.  She received an NIH Biotechnology Training Grant and an NSF Graduate Research Trainee Grant during her graduate tenure.
