The Technology Behind the Image

Wide-field (i.e., global) Chemical Imaging combines molecular spectroscopy and digital imaging to visualize chemical materials composition, structure and surrounding environment.  Many methods have been developed to acquire chemical images based on spectroscopy.  Wide-field Chemical Imaging has the advantage over other methods in that it captures the entire field of view at the same time, allows a larger area of a sample to be illuminated (microns to centimeters), provides better spatial resolution and requires less acquisition time.

ChemImage’s wide-field Chemical Imaging technique is driven by proprietary liquid crystal filter technology.  It uses solid-state electro-optical elements to provide tunable wavelength selection, void of moving parts.  Our Multi-Conjugate Filter (MCF) offers higher signal throughput, greater thermal stability, and more accurate, reproducible results than other tunable filters on the market.
