Fast, Accurate, Dynamic Imaging For Forensic Applications

Together with CI Xpert™, the versatile data acquisition and analysis software package included with the system, CONDOR allows you to unlock information contained within the chemical images, to reveal detail of sample chemistry that’s unobtainable by traditional analytical imaging methods.

The CONDOR - Chemical Imaging for Forensics Applications

Q & A: CONDOR

Q: What is the size of the CONDOR?
A: For laboratory use only, the CONDOR is 53 cm deep x 68 cm wide x 125 cm tall

Q: What agencies/laboratories currently use the CONDOR?
A: The CONDOR is currently in use at the United States Secret Service, The Australian Federal Police, The Internal Revenue Service, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and Bristoll Myers Squibb, among others.

Q: Has the CONDOR ever been used for real casework?
A: Yes. The United States Secret Service has been using the CONDOR for real case samples for the past two years.

Q: Has CONDOR or Chemical Image data been presented in a court of law?
A: Yes. The United States Secret Service has presented data collected from the CONDOR to help prosecute and convict several individuals.

Q: Is the CONDOR a transportable unit?
A: No. The CONDOR is a laboratory-based instrument only.

Q: Is there a warranty or guarantee on my purchase?
A: All parts and labor are guaranteed for one year from the date of purchase. After one year, maintenance agreements can be purchased to cover the instrument.

Q: How do I know which CONDOR confirguration is best for me?
A: The specific sample type(s) that you are interested in, will determine the configuration that is best for you. Please contact a ChemImage Customer Care representative.

Q: Does CONDOR offer more than forensic imaging applications?
A: Yes. Package analysis/ anti-counterfeiting and tablet uniformity/particle sizing can be considered forensic applications and “more.”

Packages for pharmaceuticals and other manufactured products often come in colorful boxes. The CONDOR, in the visible configuration (410-740 nm) is useful in generating a colorimetric profile for the dyes or inks used to create the packages. Each colored dye or ink will have a unique spectral signature associated with it, therefore counterfeit packages can be easily discovered. Some inks/dyes have unique absorption or reflection in the near infrared region of the spectrum, therefore a CONDOR equipped with the Visible/Near- Infrared configuration can provide NIR spectral profiles of the dyes/inks in addition to the colorimetric profiles.

Using the Near Infrared configuration of the CONDOR (850-1800 nm) whole tablets can be analyzed at once to visualize the distribution of active ingredients throughout excipient material. In addition, because the API is easily distinguished from the excipient, the size of the API particles can also be determined.
