New Frontiers In Biomedical Analysis And Understanding

Internal research and development efforts in biomedical application areas at ChemImage are an active area of growth. Our focus is on bringing chemical imaging information into a context where clinical and research professionals can use the techniques and information that it provides. Active areas of research and development include:

  • Image processing and analysis
  • Tissue image based diagnosis
  • Chemical Imaging information management
  • Automated image acquisition and analysis of Chemical images

Our advanced imaging technology will allow biomedical scientists to obtain objective information without the use of reagents from cells and tissues. Because this information is based on the molecular environment of cells and tissues it provides insight into the relevant physiology or disease and will therefore provide new objective perspective on disease diagnosis and management.

The key concept underlying wide-field hyperspectral tissue imaging is that the complex molecular environment carries important information about the physiologic or pathologic state of the cell or tissue. Researchers and clinicians can use the information as it is displayed as an image. In this manner, our enabling technology allows us to identify a digital signature for inflammatory conditions, cancer, cellular transformation and more.

Examples of demonstrated biomedical applications of spectral imaging include:
