Rapid, detection of Biological and Chemical Warfare Agents (BWAs and CWAs), as well as the detection of explosive devices, are critical in today’s uncertain world. Conventional means of detecting and identifying hazardous materials using reagent-based tools, including immunoassay, genetic markers or cell culturing, are fundamentally slow or too costly, due to the reliance on expensive consumables.
ChemImage offers optical sensing technology that rapidly and accurately detects and classifies pathogens, CWAs and explosive materials without the use of reagents. Our governmental collaborative efforts include work in hazardous material detection with the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP), Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center (ECBC), Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), United States Secret Service (USSS) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP).
- Discrimination of hoaxes vs threats
- Simultaneously confirm the presence of multiple unknown hazardous materials
- Identification of suspicious powders and liquids.
- Reagentless detection without presumption of threat type
- Minimal sample preparation and non-destructive sampling
