ChemImage Director of Product Management, Charles W. Gardner, Ph.D. PMP, has been selected to be the President of the 2019 Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (Pittcon 2019). Dr. Gardner was selected by the leadership of the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh (SSP), one of the two sponsoring Societies of Pittcon, for his leadership abilities, his experience and his dedication to both Pittcon and to the SSP.

"I am excited to take on this leadership role, and am thankful for trust and support of the SSP," said Dr. Gardner. "I have been a part of the Pittcon organizing committee since 1987 and am honored to be able to take leadership of Pittcon 2019 and to continue the 66 year tradition of this respected meeting."

Pittcon is the premier annual conference and exposition on laboratory science, analytical chemistry and applied spectroscopy. Proceeds from Pittcon fund science education and outreach at all levels, kindergarten through adult. Pittcon donates more than a million dollars a year to provide financial and administrative support for various science outreach activities including science equipment grants, research grants, scholarships and internships for students, awards to teachers and professors, and grants to public science centers, libraries and museums.

"ChemImage supports collaboration with multiple innovative and influential organizations, such as Pittcon, in order to keep the lines of communication open within the industry to exchange ideas and provide education about advances in technology while learning from other scientific experts," said Jim McGlone, President at ChemImage Corporation, "While the industry gains a clear benefit from events such as Pittcon, the creativity of ChemImage scientists is stimulated through these types of direct interaction with key members of the analysis and spectroscopy community."

Pittcon 2016 takes place on March 6 - 10, 2016 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA. Additional details are available at
